A stylized view of an alley in the Dupont Circle area.

The back alleys of a city can be as interesting as anything. They have a texture that is different from the street-facing façade. This alley is near the Dupont Circle. While the main street has shiny buildings several stories high, this has one thing stacked on top of another. Rather than being planned, everything just happened. Evolved.

This photograph is a stylized version of the real thing. Removing the wires and smudging things a bit helps distance you from the subject. Rather than focusing on the details, you can take a step back and get a sense for the whole place.
