A pair of cyclists and car round the corner on Sligo Creek Parkway.

Sligo Creek Parkway winds along its eponymous waterway. On weekends, sections of it close to vehicle. Obviously, this isn’t one of those sections. Even though this parkway is in the middle of the city, it doesn’t look like it. Except for occasional glimpses of houses through the trees, you wouldn’t know there are over nine million people around you.

The Sligo Creek Trail parallels the parkway. Together, they carry almost every imaginable way of exploring the watershed: walking, running, riding, driving. Even equestrian, though you don’t see horses that often. The trail connects with other parks and trails in the Washington, DC, area.
