The Hirshhorn Museum is all about curves. Together with the sun, the result is light curves, concrete curves, and shadows. Sometimes, curves combine to make even more curves. Like in this photograph. The shadows and sunlight combine with the sculpture garden to create the suggestion of a lozenge of light falling across the space.
Places like the museum are nice for this kind of photography. They offer many different combinations of lines and shapes. So as you move from place to place, everything changes. A few feet to one side or the other results in a completely different convergence.
