The Hirshhorn Museum is all curves. Circles and fanned lines. A reflecting pool sits in the middle of the interior courtyard. The museum protects the water from the wind, so it’s waves are slow and large. The languid liquid reflects the morning light. The rays within the pool create gradations along the bottom.
The museum is all about modern art, so it’s fitting that we can make modern(ish) art with it. And it’s easy when presented with numerous curves and straight lines that we can combine in wildly different ways. Almost any vantage point at this museum will result in something interesting.
