A shadow falls across the rough wall, revealing its texture.

Some walls are smooth and others, like this one, are rough. When the light falls on it just right, the texture springs out. The light and dark brings out the extremes. This particular rough wall is the exterior of one of the academic buildings at the University of Victoria. Unlike some of the other textures you might find at the university, this one doesn’t blend with the Pacific Northwest unless you expect a cliff of aggregate jumping out of the trees.
